Anyway for those wondering Hi10 is by far the better release, but it is 10-bit encoded unlike J-S which is standard 8-bit
Hey what do I need to play MKVs at top quality?
I just got my laptop 2 days ago, so I can watch MKV files now.
for top quality i suggest CCCP with KMplayer or Media player classic-HC.
For simple quick set up i suggest splayer or vlc.
Honestly the main quality difference between these is the subtitles rendering

yea it the hi10 that problem…not ur pc..i played 1080p videos well enough without any problem….

^ The release(s) are encoded from a DVD which only has 480p.
Ok people.
1) there will be no HD release for a while as the blu-ray hasn’t come out only the dvd.
2) 2nd as stated above, Hi10 is 10 bit encoded so you need a setup that supports it. This means not vlc and you NEED to update whatever codec pack you use.

J-S used a v0 non QCed script from another no name group while Hatsuyuki has been translating for a while.
J-S also seriously fucked up their encoding/
we had J-S up as it was the 1st one out but switched it out for Hatsuyuki’s. Hell even Hi10′s release was a lot better then J-S
