The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Discussion
#1
Posted 13 October 2009 - 02:16 PM
I thought that the forum should have a thread for this to keep discussion off the fanclub thread.
I think that deciding to make Disappearance into a movie was a good move. I've read all the novels, and in my opinion vol 1 (Melancholy) and vol 4 (Disappearance) were the two that had the best potential to be good movies. The other novels would do better as episodes.
I really can't wait for it! \(^.^)/
I hope to see everyone posting your thoughts about it here after it's released (or before)!

It sure did (a couple of weeks ago). The announcement for the movie was in a commercial at the end of that episode.
i agree that Disappearance do have the the potential to be a great movie in itself and especially when the 2009 anime ended with an episode already shown in the first one, it does make the fans want something more.

While that is true, I personally think fans wanting more stems from Endless Eight...and the still awaited release of the tenth and final light novel. But aside from that, I can't wait to see the movie.

I am very happy about this news~~
When I heard season 2 was started, I thought the disappearance story would be included into it, but it turned out to be the boredom story... there was sometimes when I read the wikipedia, it was said that the production of season2 was stopped and a movie will be made, and I got some depressed....
but now we turn out to have them both!!! ~~~~~~

I haven't read anything beyond the first novel, so I can't judge on 'Disappearance' as 'movie material.' But given the "debacle" that was Endless Eight, I'm guessing this movie is also designed to reassure the fanbase.

It's a trailer!
Give it a second and it should play.
Makes sense they should reveal it today (Dec 18).
My excitment level is rising! (it's not quite at 9000 yet...)
