For me it's a very close call.
Nagato in first, and Tsunade, Yoko, and Shana coming close behind.
Reasons: data manipulation powers ftw, having knowledge of just about everything, and getting stabbed with multiple spears and calmly saying "I am fine" all make Nagato a very badass female.

You may interpret 'badass' any way you want whether it's raw power, intelligence, personality, some combination, etc.

My choice is Holo.


Reasons? She's sexy, with a razor sharp wit and is craftily clever. It always seems like a situation is under control when she's around, though she never lets Lawrence know that! Added to that, she can transform into a massive wolf when she needs to, I think Holo definitely has a case for being the "most badass" female.

Thinking of it - I believe, they're the only two series I watched with really badass female maincharacters. At least they are the only ones I can remember (aside from Lucy, which would be badass,too, but unfortunately she comes up with Nyuu who isn't badass at all). Are there so few cool ladies that are more than just accessory parts? Well, just ask for male badass characters the next time...
