Please download and install one of the programs below. The below players are able to play vast amounts of file extensions, notably .mkv.

Windows:
Combined Community Codec **HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

VLC

SM Player

Until the last second

I’ll be smiling more tomorrow than today
Just being with you makes me feel that way
Ten years, a hundred years, a thousand years
Let’s spend the time together
I love you

Donīt forget ccp its one of the best there is. It installs all the nnecessary codecs, and it has classic mediaplayer with it. Open all media files with classic mediaplayer and you wonīt regret it ;)

^what he said. I've used VLC and mpc+klite but still think CCCP is the best.

I recommend KMPlayer, works perfectly. Never had a problem with it. No need to install separate codecs either.

For older computers, like mine. I run cccp and core avc. You have to purchace the Core Avc but for 14 dollars but its the best h264 codec out there. VCL player is good to about 250 mb mvks for me ,but after that the audio is out of sync with the animation.
Too much anime to watch, Not enough time!!!!!!

the reason i don't like mkv file types is because of the poor support. I don't mean on the pc ... xvid (avi) plays on my xbox 360 and also on my gf stand alone player. Saves me the trouble of having to converting them.

Won't happen. May take donations if the site gets much much bigger and I can't handle the server upgrades, but it'll stay free.

The KM Player is really good indeed, it even plays some 1080p files that other players couldn't play smoothly on my PC

KMP PLUS or KMP/MPC + codecs package.....
running 720p files is so easy, 1080p+ you can open dvxa.

mkv is a container, haali can separate it.
for H264, thinking about CoveAVC(soft decode); if failed, use CLAVC(open dvxa - hardware decode).

I used to have problems with MKV's being very jagged and aliased. Until I realized that all I had to do was enable directx video viewing or something in VLC.

There's also a WMP plugin to play MKV's now but its very limited from what I can tell.
