What anime should we watch so far... no matter old or new ones... for me I suggest Clannad, Onegai Twins, Under The Bridge, Detroit Metal City and etc... Do share the animes you think we should all watch so we can have a look... ^^

Honestly i don't think there are any animes that are must see's if you are an anime fan.
But i will say there are some if you are a fan of a genre. As such:

elfen lied, yu yu hakusho, rurouni kenshin, ranma 1/2, golden boy, air master, akira, these are some old animes you should watch.

Any1 can suggest!!! The new ones I would like to suggest is Kimi to Boku, Fate Zero, Nichijou (has been few months), Guilty Crown, Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon and the remake of Hunter X Hunter,,, old ones... Hmm... Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Full Metal Panic Fumoffu, and The melancholy of Haruhi Shizumiya!!!

sayonara zetsubou sensei

(although its just started to air, everyone needs to start watching mirai nikki cause that manga is the shit and the anime will be just as if not more tight butthole)

people probably haven't mentioned the dragon ball series cause, while there is a lot nostalgia that comes with it, the show actually isn't really all that great once you have seem more anime and look back on it. The origonal was pretty good but Z was annoyingly drawn out and GT was just stupid in my opinion. Kai did make the show better though by cutting out all the shit that made Z annoying.

Hm, I guess the question is not that clear. I'd go with Caboose saying no anime needs necessarily to be seen.. But if you're asking about which anime you should have seen so that you can talk with other animefans I'd suggest you go with the first ones on ranking systems like on ANN, MAL or whatever.
Actually I think these toplists are quite a bad way to find out the next anime to watch. Clinging to these will only lead to mainstream-stuff (which don't necessarily needs to be bad, but still there are many good anime you won't get in touch by using this system).
That said, there aren't anime everyone needs to see. Just stick with the best of these that fit your interests (>genre). So let's see, personally I'd suggest:

Katanagatari (+ only real lovestory I can recommend)
Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai (+ drama)

Detectives/Soldiers/Mafia

Here are a few I would recommend people watch:


Romance/magical girl(?): Princess Tutu.
Comedy/high school: School Rumble/Cromartie High School.
Gore/splatter: Hellsing Ultimate.
Action: Canaan.
Sci-Fi: Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo.
Drama/slice of life: Haibane Renmei.
Historical/action/supernatural: Le Chevalier D'Eon/Basilisk.


I'm not just listing them because I like them... I genuinely think these are some good titles to check out...
