Everyone has looked at review sites on anime from one time to another.
Some do it religiously and some do it on a whim and some just on accident.
Some people listen to their friends opinions on anime and some make sure to do the opposite of what they say.
And then there are some who ask opinions from complete strangers on forums and online chatrooms on anime.
Regardless of how you get your intel on the anime that you watch, if you hear that such and such anime is horrible.

Do you:

A) Listen them and believe that the anime should be burned at the stake never to be seen by human eyes again

B ) Ignore conventional wisdom and take a gamble on the anime to determine if YOU think it sucks or not

OR

C) What is anime? (If you picked this one then let me tell you that you are on the wrong forums!)

One more question to add: If you did go against conventional wisdom and watched a show that had been rumored to suck, did it actually suck or was it not as bad as you thought?

My answer would be (B ), I don't like ppl telling me something sucks and just trusting them. I watch it for myself and then determine if it sucked or not. Example of an anime that I had heard sucked but I had to see for myself would be Kampfer. It had its moments but overall, I have to say conventional wisdom was right and that it indeed sucked.

So do you believe it to be Truth or do you take the Dare?

( B ) is my answer. i dont pay much attention to negative criticism, cause most if not all the time i end up disagreeing. i dont like forming my opinion based on others, and if i choose (A) and decided to listen i dont think there would be any anime left to watch, seeing as everyone holds their own opinion on whats good and bad.

I haven't been in many situations where people tell me not to watch an anime, but I'd say B. I don't read reviews, either... I usually google/wiki the show and then decide if I wanna watch it based on the plot outline.


Someone told me not to watch Umineko no Naku Koro Ni and I watched it anyways. I felt they were right about the show in the end, though... lol.

I choose B, but if the review, plot, genre, art sucks I won't absolutely watch it.

An anime that recieves negative attention can be awesome, but too often I have been disappointed. I don't have as much time to view anime as other people do, thus with my limited time I would like to try to watch the best anime around.
Rankings: They usually provided a good indicator to me for the potential a title holds.
Reviews: I don't pay as much attention to. I often find myself disagreeing with them.
Friend recommendations: My friends have a good grasp of my opinions and are able to recommend titles they predict I wil enjoy. It's not often they mention a title to avoid, but if they do I take their advice.

As for now, I don't have that much free time to download anime since im quite busy with school. So im careful on choosing what to watch, and always try to see the judgement of others 'bout it. The last time i did the choice B, i felt like a total idiot who've wasted much time.
