[Official] Mizore Fanclub
Posted 15 Dec 2011
The Mizore Fanclub
(awaiting banner)
Hello friends and fellow admirers! Welcome to the fanclub of Mizore Shirayuki, beloved Ice Witch and misunderstood lover. All of us here understand your connection with this refreshing, adorable girl, to the extent than anyone truly can.
Here, we fellows converse about Mizore and things related to her, including the other characters in relation to her, Yanderes in general, and our own fan-made things.
Not only do we talk, but we take action! If you find a great piece of fan-art of Mizore, share it with us! If you find some (incredibly sparse) Mizore mechandise, tell us and prove with pics! Show off some of your dedication using what incredible or minimal skill you may have!
The final objective of this fanclub is of course to spread the word and make sure everyone knows how great Mizore is. If anyone is interested in anime, tell them about Mizore, especially if they like Yandere already. Make beautiful banners, signatures, icons, avatars, posters, whatever! Make sure people know about this Frozen Queen, show your wintery pride! -
Original Ideas
Posted 26 Nov 2011
Hey all! It's been a while, I know, but I'm back again for a while anyway. I'll have another Great Debate sometime, but not yet.
This topic is for discussion of anime that nobody has heard of because its yours! If you've drawn/planned/imagined any scenes, settings, characters or plots from your own anime or anime segments, tell us about them here! Show us your artwork! (With that being said, if you plan on using it some day then maybe it's better kept more discreet
)
Maybe some of the ideas here will also prompt other ideas from people, or inspire artwork depicting the scene!
But this isn't just for the imaginative or artistic among us, its also for the fans and the planners! As we get more ideas accumulated, we'll take a look at how some of the ideas can fit together, the effects they'd have, and how some of the characters would fit in. Maybe we'll even forge a coherent storyline, or an episode plot! Much fun is to be had!
Spoiler
EDIT: Okay I realised maybe it'd be better if I started it off a bit with a few of my own ideas, so I'm going to put them here now!
Concept: Ghostly Possessions
Not as cliché as you would think! The idea is that occasionally when people die, they will become a ghost with a single possession that can interact with the living world and the ghostly world. These possessions can only be used by the owner, and always have a purpose to fulfil them and allow them to pass on from being a ghost.
The main character will be one of these, and will be unique in having an item never seen before, and being the only one that can't be removed. This will cause issues where the character can't walk through walls because the item holds them back, but they will eventually learn to use their item better, and be able to move it through things, etc.
Concept: Inverse Harem?
An unconventional style of harem whereby instead of multiple girls vying for a guy's love, one guy likes multiple other girls but has to decide which one and also try and get them to love him back. Has the potential for comedy or deep emotion!
Character Model: Cheerfully Decisive
This kind of character will almost always be happy, and never feel pressured into situations by people. Always has the confidence to speak their mind very bluntly, though actually understands the effects their words have and intends them (i.e. doesn't accidentally insult someone, if something seems insulting but isn't, they counter it with a reason its good)
Usually because of their confidence and clear direction, but also sometimes because of luck of confusion caused by their reactions, things will work out for them, even when doing things usually very dangerous, like walking calmly up to a robber and 'confiscating' his gun because he's being 'unreasonable'. -
The Great Debate IV - Being Serious
Posted 6 Aug 2011
"And once every hundred years, the mighty shall cast forth his hand from the depths of the ocean, and scribe a riddle into the mountainside, so that men may argue amongst themselves, wage a mental war and discover new reaches of their minds"
Also, I'm making the fourth Great Debate! Not sure if this is the best, but I deem it worthy of debating! It's also better than the season length debate.
Now, we've all seen anime make fun of itself, saying how the producers didn't have time to such and such and so they put in a beach episode (Hayate the Combat Butler), or making jokes about censoring (Hayate the Combat Butler), or sometimes giving characters abilities that are explained with "TV Magic" or similar (HAYATE THE COMBAT BUTLER).
On the other hand, there are the anime that take themselves so seriously, but they probably don't deserve it (DragonBallZ). This seems to be a common occurrence in shounen, and while it keeps the anime on track (and a bit more immersive), it sometimes gets annoying and a bit childish.
Thus, we come to the topic at hand; Is it better for anime to sacrifice structure and possibly storyline in order to gain some possible dignity? Or would you rather an anime seem childish so that it follows a more structured story? Does it depend on the anime? Is genre a major decider? What are the best examples where a serious approach or a comedic approach works? What about the worst? Have your say! Push your opinion up other peoples noses!
FIGHT!
